Origin: India Introduction: The teapot and cup sets are individually handetched by our artisans in India. We work with a number of artisans in Northern India to develop exclusive designs, and maintain a high level of quality. The teapot nests on top of the cup and also helps warm it while the tea is brewing. In making this teaware, once the clay is molded into the basic shape of the teapot and cup, the artisan takes time to design the pot and apply the colors. Each teapot is different and distinct. Sometimes, the artisans may even give the teapot a reference name, to help complete the process at a later time. After the painting is complete, the glaze is applied and the teaware is baked in our old kiln. The teapot has a 12 ounce capacity and will make two cups of tea. Each cup is six ounces. 100% lead free glaze as per the US California specifications and standards. Hand Crafted Character: Each piece is hand etched, hand painted, glazed and fired in small batches in a traditional North Indian kiln. Because of their hand crafted nature, no two are exactly alike. Slight variations in the etched pattern, drips and imperfections in the glaze, as well as subtle shifts in shades and texture all contribute to the one of a kind character of this distinctive Indian teaware. Idiosyncrasies in appearance are part of their essential character and do not interfere with their function. All items are sold as is. Care Suggestions: Proper care for your teaware will ensure longevity. Avoid using any abrasive materials, heavy perfumed soap or bleach. The teaware is dishwasher / microwave safe.
