Size: 3.5 oz. bulk loose tea Origin: United States History: Botanical name: Trifolium pratense. Red Clover is a perennial, but of short duration. Generally abundant on meadowland of a light sandy nature where it produces abundant blossoms and forms an excellent mowing crop. The plant has several stems 1 to 2 feet high rising from the one root with slightly hairy leaves often lighter coloured in the center. It produces flowers that are red to purple in color, fragrant, and in dense globular heads. Because of Red Clover's ability to loosen phlegm and soothe bronchial spasms, it is often used to alleviate coughs and respiratory problems. As a blood cleanser, it can be used to help treat eczema and other skin conditions. Soft, fruity aroma with a light, sweet-tart taste. Caffeine free. Ingredients: 100% Organic Red Clover Leaves Certified Organic by: Quality Assurance International (QAI) We recommend using mineral or spring water at 180 F temperature. Lower temperature water helps provide a fuller body to the tea. Traditional wisdom has usually called for boiling the water in a kettle. We disagree. Boiled water loses oxygen in the water. As such the brew will typically taste flat and void of minerals and crispness. Also, it is difficult to drink boiling water. Use one level teaspoon of leaf for twelve ounces of water, and brew for four minutes.
