Origin: United States History: Spearmint in its general characteristics resembles peppermint, but tends to have a more rapid growth cycle. The lance-shaped leaves are generally stemless, and the flower spikes are narrow and pointed rather than thick and blunt. This herbal tea is made from the dried leaves collected before the flowers are fully developed. Cool, refreshing, crisp infusion with a sweet, menthol aroma. Caffeine free. Certified Organic by: Quality Assurance International (QAI) We recommend using mineral or spring water at 180 F temperature. Lower temperature water helps provide a fuller body to the tea. Traditional wisdom has usually called for boiling the water in a kettle. We disagree. Boiled water loses oxygen in the water. As such the brew will typically taste flat and void of minerals and crispness. Use one level teaspoon of leaf for twelve ounces of water, and brew for four minutes.
